What is the best spa & resort in Southern California?

Thanks for answering!

I want to treat myself to a 1 or 2 night stay at a spa and resort – drink mai tais by the pool or mud bath, sleep until noon in fluffy beds, have a few spa treatments – you get the idea.

I live in San Diego, but spend most of the week in LA. Any suggestions? I can’t afford big bills right now, so I am looking for something under $250 per night.

I have stayed in Palm Springs before, but like something a little closer to San Diego or LA.

Thanks!

I know this one hands down!

There’s an amazing resort and spa right in San Diego, called Paradise Point. The spa is Spa Terre. It’s on an island in the middle of Mission Bay, right across from SeaWorld.

My family has stayed there twice now, and it is Wonderful with a capital wuh! Not only do they have great, warm pools and gorgeous rooms (with fluffy beds, of course), but you also have access to their private beach.

Price may be a smidge more than you indicate, but it’s worth it in my opinion. We cannot wait for another trip!

The best spas are the Golden Door in Escondido and Cal-A-Vie in Guajome Park (Vista). They’re not cheap, though. Try the website below. You can search by various criteria to find the best spa.

I go to Burke Williams in Santa Monica for an inexpenisve-yet-luxurious experience. It’s a day-spa, though, not a resort.
