Okay here’s what happened: my spa has a tile-covered waterfall along the back. I cleaned the tile with Tilex brand tile cleaner. It contains phosphoric acid but the label did not mention detergents. I used perhaps 1/4 – 1/2 cup for 2 8′X6′ panels of tile.
When I turned on the jets (it doesn’t foam when the waterfall is on) the soap bubbles were so deep they looked like some slapstick comedy routine Kramer from Seinfeld would find himself in. All I needed was a horse to feed some Beef-a-reeno to and I was set.
Any ideas – short of draining the spa – on how to reduce the foaming? My pool guy is out of town for a week and a half on vacation. Thanks, fellow spa owners/pool maintenance people!
baking soda will neutralize the soap and soften the water
Spa is foaming like an episode of ‘I Love Lucy’ – help needed?

Do you have any ideas for a special vacation?
My husband loves to fish! We both love the Florida Keys and particularly Marathon Key. I would love to stay in nice hotel with a kitchenette that also has spa services. I would also like to charter a boat that could accommodate us overnight. Does anyone have any suggestions, or had a similar vacation experience? If so, please let me know where you stayed.
Thank you!
Renting a house or a condo would be a great idea for you and your husband, as you are much more likely to find one with a kitchenette. There are a lot of choices for rentals in the Florida area. I’m not sure how much you are looking to spend, so I would say that it’s best to do your homework and use online research to find available places to stay that fit within your budget.
Rather than give you a specific property name and location, I would suggest that you do some research on the available houses/condos, the prices and the locations. I have used justvr.com in the past and it was quite helpful for narrowing down my choices and booking a few nights stay.
I’m looking for a beach/spa/relaxing vacation, any ideas?
We were looking at Hawaii (I’m from there so we would know where to go), or some place in Asia. We are currently living in Japan so the places here would be a bit closer than Hawaii (plus my mom is still there so a HUGE reason NOT to visit). It’s just my husband and I so I want it to be romantic not kid friendly. We wanted some place where there are nice hotels and spas and of course beaches but that is not expensive. We’ve heard Thailand is good but what about Guam or Malaysia, or any other place for that matter?
There are TONS of Getaway spas in the world check them out on this website: http://www.spafinder.com/spas/getaway-spas.jsp
For vacation, should I go on a cruise to Bermuda or go to Orlando and do the amusement parks there?
We are looking to go on a vacation in the first week of August. What do you guys suggest, cruise to Bermuda on NCL, which I heard was a really bad cruise line and I would like to hear some opinions, or stay in the Internation Resort and Spa in Orlando and go to Seaworld, Aquatica, Busch Gardens, and Universal.
oh man oh man universal i go there every year and i live in d.c its my favorite place in the world and a little tip if you can stay on resort and you will get a express pass and skip all the lines and every ride is just great from jaws to men in black and jurrassic park to spiderman (jp and spiderman are in islands of adventure)

anyone ever been to chula vista resort for vacation in wisconsin dells?
or anywhere in wisconsin for vacation (noahs ark waterpark, party barges’, spa del sol)??? just wondering how fun it all is for an upcoming vacation there this year.
I have been to the Great Wolf Lodge. It is a real class act. I would recommend it to ANYONE! The rooms are very, very nice. But do be prepared that they are in reality much smaller than what they show on their web site. Also, the staff is wonderful. And the water park is very large! They even have an indoor wave pool. Also right across from their parking lot is an AWESOME outlet mall and also an indoor arcade / amusement park. Great place!
would you rather have a vacation, or new furniture, and an afternoon at the spa?
Depends entirely on which I need more and/or how long I can go without the other before needing it.
